Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar: Arjun Kapoor Deserves a Great Director to Showcase His Talent

Date: June 26, 2025

Arjun Kapoor Drops Special Video As Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar Completes 4 Years: 'Some Films Find...' | Movies News - News18

In Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Arjun Kapoor’s performance was misjudged and underappreciated. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the dark comedy showcases Kapoor’s hidden talent, which often goes unnoticed due to his lack of judgment when it comes to choosing projects. His portrayal of Satinder 'Pinky' Dahiya, a suspended cop, reflects his ability to bring vulnerability to a character, something rare in Bollywood’s leading men. Kapoor plays a morally conflicted character who agrees to help a woman, Sandeep, who is on the run after exposing a workplace scandal.

The film itself, however, faced numerous delays before it finally made its way to theaters, during which time the buzz surrounding the movie died down. Despite his captivating performance, the film’s release and its lack of audience reception led to its failure at the box office. However, Kapoor’s acting in the film was exceptional, and it proves that he’s a talented actor who just needs the right direction and project to shine. As Kapoor continues to receive flak for roles that don’t do justice to his skills, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar proves that his problem isn’t his talent but a poor choice of scripts and lack of quality direction. A film with a more substantial reception would likely have put him in a completely different career trajectory.
